The preliminary examination will consist of two objective type papers of two hours duration each.
Paper I
Paper I will be of General Studies. It will have 120 multiple choice questions carrying 150 marks in total.

This paper will cover the following fields of knowledge.

- Current Events of National and International importance.

- History of India and Indian National Movement

- Indian & World Geography

- Indian Polity

- Indian Economy

- General Science

- General Mental Ability.
Paper II
Paper II will be optional subject choosen by the candidate from the specified list of subjects. It will be having 120 questions (multiple choice) carrying 300 marks in total.
